Since today is Father’s Day and it is still Pride Month, I decided to make a list of my top yaoi dads. These fathers are truly adorable and despite each of their situations (whether they’re adoptive fathers or former single fathers,) they still manage to raise their children to the best of their abilities.
1- Yokozawa and Kirishima- Sekaiichi Hatsukoi
I love Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. I remember reading it all the time (and I’m always still waiting for the newest updates) and squeal all the time while doing so. The one couple that I think is the cutest is Yokozawa and Kirishima. Kirishima has a daughter named Hiyori from his late wife—Sakura. Kirishima will do anything for Hiyori and when he got together with Yokozawa, he too became attached. It’s really adorable since you get so used to hating Yokozawa, but then you see how big of a softie he is with Kirishima and Hiyori. Both of them do a really good job with taking care of her.
2- Reo and Mabu- Sarazanmai
Those of you who have seen Sarazanmai the anime know how much Reo and Mabu love each other but might be confused to see them on this list since there wasn’t any indication of them having a child. In the manga “Reo and Mabu- Together They’re Sarazanmai”, they find a baby girl abandoned on top of a plate that kept on saying the word “dish”- which caused them both to give her the name “Sara”. Both of them decided to take care of her since they couldn’t find her parents and they were already living together as partners. I think it’s absolutely adorable how protective they are of her and how they were such great parents in the manga. It was actually hard to choose if Reo and Mabu should be number one on this list instead of Yokozawa and Kirishima since both of them didn’t really have any experience in parenthood, but I still put them very high on the list.
3-Chisato Takatsukasa- Kirepapa
Chisato is the single doting father of Riju. He’s incredibly protective of Riju and would do anything for him. Is he overprotective? Definitely, but it’s not to the point where it’s completely toxic, though I do think that he should let Riju live his life. The fact that he still managed to raise Riju and be a writer and still have enough money to have them live a normal and stable life is amazing. I also love how accepting they are with their relationships…well… Chisato did have to take a while because of how protective he is of Riju, but he still let Riju love who he loves.
That’s it for today. Thank you so much for reading! Happy Father’s Day to your dads, and if you’re a father yourself, Happy Father’s Day to you! Until next time, keep your paws and bowls of ramen up, everyone! Nya! 🐾
