Too Close- Manhua First Impression

Too Close is a school life yaoi written by Ji Jing Jun and Shou which was released in August of 2018. It is currently ongoing with a total of 21 chapters released so far. Lin Tian Yu is the president of the student council and the disciplinary committee and is also the son of the principal. In one inspection, he finds Xu Ze asleep in the middle of class which results in him giving him a demerit and tipping down the first domino in this chain reaction. Xu Ze ends up becoming a member of the student council as a means to annoy Lin Tian Yu to the best of his ability—which backfires since Lin Tian Yu had the same idea when letting him in.

The art style is rather pretty. I do like how the colors bring out some of the serious yet humorous atmosphere of the story. However, the plot is a major cliché, but I sort of hoped for a bit more as I was reading the 21 available chapters. It could be me—ironically—expecting a bit too much as I was reading this, but I felt like it was too flat and cliché; which lead me to being incredibly disappointed. I’m going to give it at least 4 more chapters before I can make up my mind on whether I should continue reading this manhua or not.

For now, I’m going to give this manhua two paws out of five.🐾🐾 I felt like it was lacking a bit too much in the sense of keeping their reader’s attention. However, as I have mentioned before, I will give it 4-5 more chapters before making my final decision on whether I should continue reading this or not. That’s all for today, I hope you enjoy reading this. Until next time, keep your paws and bowls of ramen up, everyone! Nya! 🐾
