With 2019 ending and 2020 being around the corner, it is time to set resolutions/ goals. Now, 2019 was one hell of a year, yes, but there were many positive things that happened as well (as I have mentioned in my 2019 takeaways). I was able to meet my goals/ resolutions to some extent, however, I feel like I didn’t exactly reach them the way I wanted because I had my expectations unrealistically high. Last year my main personal goal was to be incredibly confident—basically at a “you can’t mess with me” level. As time went on, I realized that it wasn’t exactly a realistic goal for the short amount of time—especially with my incredibly low self-esteem/ self-confidence. This year, I made it my main personal goal to be more self-loving/appreciative. On a professional level, I also met with my goals to some extent, but half-way through the year, I basically flopped with being consistent. My main professional goal for this upcoming year is to be a better creator both for the blog and as an author. In order to be able to meet with these short-term goals, I made a list of small resolutions/ goals. I will also list a few goals that I wish to get done throughout this upcoming decade. WARNING: THIS POST IS RATHER LONG!
Now, by being healthier, I don’t just mean losing weight. I mean being physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthier. Throughout this year, I was more focused on weight-loss being a goal of mine, but that didn’t last long which led me to be incredibly upset and frustrated with myself. I went to the doctor for the first time in years at around October where I was finally diagnosed with Hyperthyroidism. This not only was a weight off my shoulders because of the fact that I now know what’s going on with my body, but I also have more motivation to become healthier/taking better care of my own body. Now, this doesn’t mean that I’m worried about losing weight. For now, I’m just worried about getting my health back on track as a means to living a long, happy life. As for mentally, I plan on working on time management as a means to be able to do everything that I must/want to do during the day, week, and month. I did get a lot more sleep the second half of this year—in fact, it was the most I’ve ever slept since I moved to the island. Hopefully, I’ll be healthier next year than ever.
Post/ Write more consistently
I was able to write more this year than last year, but I did start to have days to weeks of hiatus due to many reasons (some of it was because I was really unorganized with what I wanted to talk about for an upcoming post, but laziness also played a role in this—as well as certain factors with my personal life that have happened throughout the year). I have talked to Reese about creating a post schedule on excel as a means to organize everything that I want to cover and be able to manage my time better with the posts both on this blog and The Lost Otaku (a group blog that I joined in with other fellow bloggers) [I also apologize immensely to the team members of the blog for not posting as much and thank you so much for being incredibly understanding]. I also plan on scheduling at least 15-30 minutes of practicing writing stories/poetry as a means to improve on both aspects.
Watch/ Read/ Play More
This was my goal last year. While I was able to read, watch and play a tad bit more than I did the previous year, I did feel a bit upset that I wasn’t able to do as much as I’d like—especially when it came to doing so to write about it. Hopefully, I will be able to manage my time well enough to be able to do any of these three things during my free time throughout the day.
Goals for Decade:
I’ve always wanted to release some sort of book—whether it be a poetry book or a novel (preferably a novel). Unfortunately, there aren’t many publishing agencies for English books here on the island so that would mean that self-publishing might be a better option for me if I were to stay here. Hopefully, I’ll be able to publish my first book by the end of the decade.
Expand own business
I have a small business where I create certain things from crochet to stories via commission. I have considered creating other pages for these businesses as a means to be able to reach out to more potential clients and have a nice income for myself (since I do prefer living alone). I have also thought about maybe becoming a ghostwriter, proof-reader, editor, transcriber or freelancer as a job.
Be the Best Person I can be
As cheesy as this sounds, I want to be the best version of myself as I can possibly be. I owe it not only to myself but to those I care about deeply—both in my professional and personal life. I want to be able to say that I’m happy living in my body and having the life that I am blessed with having. I want to make the most of my life in every aspect possible.
With that being said, I hope you all have a fantastic New Year/ New decade. Thank you all for reading what I have been writing throughout the year. Until next time, keep your paws and bowls of ramen up, everyone! Nya! 🐾
