During these past few weeks, I’ve read a lot of manga—especially yaoi because of Pride Month. Despite reading a few toxic relationships, I did find a few couples that I think were absolutely adorable. Here are two of my favorite yaoi couples. Please note that this is going to be more of a list since I don’t really have time at the moment to go into full detail like I usually do. Either way, I hope you enjoy!.
1- Haruka and Kyouichi- Koitomo
I love this couple so much—especially when they came out in Private Teacher. Haruka is Kaede’s cousin who tends to be a bit of a manipulator whereas Kyouichi is the “scary-faced-yet innocent” person. Despite how toxic that may sound, they’re actually an adorable couple—especially since you get to see how Haruka turns out to be a major softie for Kyouichi.
2- Yuuki and Asahi- Aoi Haru, Akai Ito
I made a review on this specific manga a few weeks ago. The reason why I chose them, is because of how they complement each other. Asahi helps him realize that he doesn’t want to live a robotic life, whereas Yuuki helps Asahi runaway and become independent actors and get away from the toxic lifestyles they were living. I’ve always admired couples who help each other achieve their dreams/goals in life. Definitely, something I would look for in a relationship.
